I did a external hard-drive back-up once I had Win7 and IE11 working nicely with my modern(ish) laptop and then did another one with everything (VIDA) working. Important! Don't allow your computer to update via the web: it'll screw everything: Win7, IE11, Vida: they'll all attempt to update and you'll soon be in trouble. Just use 'internet connection' when prompted, otherwise it's intuitive. Don't expect to buy, follow the instructions on the listing: by time you get to the install Wizard you've already solved most issues, Post Wizard is a doddle. I have no doubt it'll do everything else I need. Eventually after nearly a day's work it now seems to run, DICE works and has chatted to my car showing all the faults. Found one as above and followed a Youtube video on how to use (no voice and text is Russian but watch carefully and it works well).

Loaded on IE11 from Microsoft site, restarted machine. Allowed it to keep updating, with regular restarts. Process: mine was a Win 10 laptop, so installed 7 deleting Win10 partition.

The patch supplied didn't work, so I found one online VIDA-Patch2050. I'm successfully running the following: Win7 Ultimate 64bit (Pro plus bits, so Pro is fine) with Service Pack 1 I think, 4GB RAM. Where to start: well package, hardware looks very high quality and does work very well once you've got the software sorted.Īh, the software: this has all become harder with Win7 being dropped by Microsoft so if you've just bought a laptop with a blank drive (or Win 10) you've got some work to do. Not for the computer illiterate: works in the end if you stick with it.
